Preferred Vendor Program

Strengthening the companies that strengthen our national defense.

The Program

Why this Program Exists:

SBCC works with thousands of commercial innovators ready to solve real-world defense challenges. But even the strongest technologies can fall short if the company behind them struggles with:

  • Cybersecurity requirements

  • HR or payroll compliance

  • Contracting or legal questions

  • Scaling operations

  • Insurance coverage

  • Engineering support needs

  • Branding or communications

By connecting companies to proven support partners, we help strengthen the broader commercial ecosystem that ultimately feeds innovation to the Department of Defense.

Better companies → better outcomes → stronger national defense.

Growing a commercial company in the defense ecosystem is challenging. From compliance and cybersecurity to HR, payroll, and contracting support, many small businesses need reliable partners who understand what it takes to scale and operate effectively.

The Preferred Vendor Program connects companies within SBCC’s Industry Network to a curated group of trusted, high-quality service providers who can help you build the internal stability, readiness, and professionalism needed for long-term success.

This program is entirely optional and designed to help you operate smarter and stronger.

How it Works

  1. Explore the list of Preferred Vendors below.

Each has been reviewed through SBCC’s internal vetting process for quality, reliability, and relevance to small and growing companies.

  2. Identify the service area you need support.

You’ll find vendors who specialize in helping companies just like yours.

  3. Request an introduction.

Reach out directly or ask SBCC to facilitate a warm, coordinated introduction.

  4. You take it from there!

After the introduction, you and the vendor work independently.

SBCC does not participate in contracting, negotiations, or ongoing business.

  • Vendors may provide compensation to SBCC.

Companies in SBCC’s Industry Network are never charged, and vendor compensation does not influence any DoD-related technology evaluation.

  • No. Vendors in this program are not evaluated or matched for DoD capability needs.

This program exists solely to support commercial companies’ internal operations and does not play a role in SBCC’s DoD-facing work.

  • A designated SBCC internal team reviews potential vendors.

  • If a vendor develops a DoD-relevant product or technology, they must go through the standard evaluation process—just like any other company—and may be added to the SBCC’s Industry Network only after being fully assessed.

  • Vendor recommendations are based on:

    • The company’s specific needs

    • Vendor expertise

    • Proven track record

    • Fit for the particular challenge

Not every company requires vendor support, and not every vendor is ideal for every situation.

  • No.

Vendor introductions are completely optional and occur only when a company expresses interest or has a clearly identified need.

  • The company and vendor proceed independently.

SBCC does not participate in negotiations, contracting, or ongoing business between the two parties.

  • It doesn’t.

The Preferred Vendor Program is entirely separate from CE&I, TS&V, DE&A, and all other DoD-facing activities. It plays no role in DoD technology evaluation, matching, or recommendations.
