Data Engineering & Analytics
Our engineers working in DE&A specialize in pattern recognition among large volumes of data. They use machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to develop customized decision-making tools on existing government platforms. These programs improve situational awareness and decision making, streamline business processes, and increase autonomy and mobility of National Security systems.
Our custom solutions use Data Engineering, or DE to bypass outdated acquisition and sustainment processes. We utilize the Air Force’s branch wide data platforms, such as Envision, Vault, and Blade, to create immediately functional and cross-departmental accessible programs. Our tool development process costs the customer an average 95% less than commercial software solutions and is delivered about 50-87% faster by avoiding traditional Authority to Operate wait times.
SBCC offers our DE expertise to create the right solution the first time, months faster. Products are designed and delivered in as little as three months, saving our partners roughly $2.5M - $10M on annual software and tool development contracts. Solutions are government owned, hosted on government platforms, and accessible or adaptable to any customer within the Department of War.
In line with the Deputy SECDEF's "Creating Data Advantage" and SAF/CO’s “Harnessing the Power of Data", SBCC's data analysis arm strategizes to meet the intended objectives of Visible, Accessible, Understandable, Linked, Trustworthy, Interoperable, and Secure (VAULTIS) data to accelerate the enterprise data edge by following five “DoW Data Decrees” to improve performance and create decision advantage at all echelons.

Success Stories
-
CRTM is a complex collective database for AFGSC/CC to monitor organizational and operational matters within the Command. This includes monitoring the status of all issues assigned to various internal and external organizations, as well as having a bird’s eye view of progress, corrective actions taken, lessons learned, and other pertinent information on each action item. It contains an AI/ML solution integrating deep reinforcement learning and natural language processing, facilitated by a large language model. CRTM supports proactive data-driven decisions and future planning processes with real-time comprehensive analyses of organizational and operational challenges.

The dashboard provides 18th and 21st Air Force Commanders with decision-level data and recommendations to accurately assess risk-to-force and risk-to-mission. It cleanly displays a holistic view of Airmen, aircraft status, readiness, Air Force’s Force Generation (AFFORGEN), deployments and airlift, air refueling, aeromedical evacuation, and global air mobility support capacities. Dashboards incorporate artificial intelligence and dynamic alerts and notifications, as well as predictive analytics.
-
This tool provides in-transit visibility of cargo movement to the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise, integrating live data of multi-modal surface movement to coordinate operational decisions on logistics movements for multiple Combatant Commands and Services. Operation Turbo Fusion exercise is designed to test and validate the military's capability to rapidly deploy forces and equipment globally, even in contested environments. It involves integrating multiple transportation modes, including sealift and logistical support, to move heavy military equipment, such as that for Army rotational forces in South Korea.
-
Tracks detailed mission data including platform, COCOM, weapon events, intercepts, and integration metrics. Provides senior leaders with insights into Bomber Task Force missions and evaluates interactions and deviations during operations.
-
Enables 2 BW to record and visualize daily B-52 flying effectiveness through real-time dashboards. Automated reporting features save significant man-hours and ensure timely, accurate data for weekly command briefings.
-
Designed, delivered and sustained tiered, multi-day Maven Smart System training to United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) and Component personnel on both Controlled Unclassified Information and Secret platforms inside USTRANSCOM's data environment using accurate data and relevant problems sets.
-
The FORGEN Assessment and Scheduling Tool, developed and integrated in under six months and saving $1.5M in production costs, increased productivity by 90% allowing operators to produce missile alert crew schedules within one hour.
-
This dashboard provides AETC's Command Information Center with a globally scalable Orders Tracker ecosystem, featuring an automated Orders Generator, a Read-Ahead Generator, and a comprehensive Gantt chart tailored for AETC reporting, which leverages a localized AI to rapidly parse and extract critical data from individual orders, all secured by a modernized, object-based Roles Based Access Control (RBAC) framework that enforces default read-only access and utilizes PAS code-driven permissions for precise organizational routing.
-
This program employs a relational student tracking application that resolves legacy data discrepancies by seamlessly aligning BMT Training Line Numbers (TLNs) with the authoritative data fabric at 100% accuracy, ensuring continuous data reliability for AETC leadership through automated pipeline health monitors. Custom algorithms automate the entire training lifecycle, providing for the tracking of Guaranteed Training Enlistment Program statuses, student flights, classes, Training Codes, and graduation hold status,
-
This foundational database provides a relational Basic Military Training and Learning Management System Ontology, restructuring complex course, flight, and student objects, while successfully integrating new data streams. This includes mapping training facility and dorm structures for spatial tracking, incorporating Faculty Qualification Tracking Tool (FQTT) data for Technical Training Management System (TTMS-Next), and implementing automated health and data integrity monitors across the entire pipeline to ensure reliability for enterprise User Interface applications.
